Synchronic Tools in EFL class room

Using the synchronic tools that we learned in EDU401, is something I believe I will use it in my future classroom activity. I will use twitter, wikies, and create a small chat group via Voxopop. But a main drawback is that some of the students their parents don't allow them to use internet except for searching google. Another major drawback is not having internet connection in the school, or even at home.

Tech class

As for teaching with the use of CALL, I think I will teach them as a start how to use wiki spaces, since that I found they could be very helpful to start an online class.
First I’ll start with introduction on what is wiki space and how are we going to use it in our class. On that wiki the students will flow their progress and find the full syllabus, they will also see their marks and classroom evaluation, so they can perform better.
The activities that are going to be on the wiki are for all English skills for example upload a sound track for the Ss to do speaking exercise. And give them feedback immediately. Listening also I may upload a track with the questions that they should answer then do the activity and send it to me as a privet post.
For reading and writing I loved google docs I will send a reading passage or an article with the comprehension questions to do and send my the answers. For writing it's different I'll post the instruction as a google doc and they will do the assignment each one on a separate document, they can share their docs.
Using CALL in teaching is really interesting for both teacher and students.

Application of Bax Normalization in Saudi Arabia: The how!

Stephan Bax argues that, "Our aim should be to attain a state of `normalization' in which the technology is invisible and truly integrated"

Stephan Bax with this article he gave a look to future language classes, his look to the classes that will use technology but not any technology, using specially computers in teaching languages.  He also divided CALL into three approaches “phases” the first one is Restricted CALL
Language system, in this approach classes will only use computer and take place in language lap.  The second approach is Open CALL System and skills, computers are mainly used but the classes involves interaction between the student in the classroom sitting and the third approach is Integrated CALL Integrated language it mainly involves interaction between the student and use computers within the lesson.
As for the use of CALL in Saudi schools I believe that soon we will see that, with all the changes in teaching languages in classes. We see some of integrated CALL in many English classes nowadays teachers use power point slides. I hope that soon open CALL we be used in schools not as it is now only in English department in universities.
